We are committed to providing multidisciplinary care by working with our allied health colleagues where possible, to provide the best outcomes for women. The allied health professionals we work with have a special interest in women’s health and include:

  • Telehealth with intrastate and interstate specialists

At your initial consultation we would have a comprehensive individualised discussion regarding your specific needs. The services that we provide include:

  • Cervical screening
  • STI testing and management
  • Breast examination and investigation where appropriate
We know that a woman’s contraceptive needs may change over her life. We provide a comprehensive individualised discussion regarding your contraceptive needs. The services we provide include:

  • Implanon: insertion/removal/replacement/management of concerns
  • IUD: we provide a range of IUDs to suit your needs, whether they are for contraception or management of heavy periods. These include:
    • Non hormonal: Copper IUD (5 years or 10 years)
    • Hormonal: Mirena or Kyleena (low dose hormonal IUD)
  • IUD insertion/6-week check/replacement/removal/management of concerns
  • Oral contraceptive pill: assessment, provision and ongoing support
  • Depot Provera: provision
  • Referral for tubal ligation

At your initial consultation we would have a comprehensive individualised discussion regarding your specific needs. The services that we provide include:

  • Preconception health check
  • Pregnancy planning
  • Fertility – initial investigation of fertility concerns
  • Pregnancy counselling – We use non-directional pregnancy counselling skills that support a woman to make her own decision about what is best for her.
  • Early pregnancy care
  • Shared antenatal care for women who do not have a regular general practitioner
  • Six weeks postnatal check including the provision of ongoing contraception

At your initial consultation we would have a comprehensive individualised discussion regarding your specific needs. We work closely with specialised allied health professionals to provide multidisciplinary comprehensive care for you. The conditions that we investigate, manage and refer if necessary, include:

  • Period problems including PMS; heavy, irregular or painful periods.
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding including bleeding in between a period, after sex or after menopause
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Fertility – initial investigation of fertility concerns
  • Pelvic pain including painful sex
  • Endometriosis
  • Vulval health problems
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge

At your initial consultation we would have a comprehensive individualised discussion regarding your specific concerns.

  • Assessment and discussion of options for management including lifestyle and non-hormonal treatments
  • Assessment for other conditions which may be impacted by the menopause for example osteoporosis
  • Provision of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) where appropriate

At your initial consultation we would have a comprehensive individualised discussion regarding your specific needs. The conditions that we investigate and manage include:

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Prolapse
  • Pessary fitting and ongoing care. If a pessary is required, pessaries can be purchased through the clinic or we can direct you to an online purchasing site.
    • Pessaries are a non-surgical treatment suitable to manage some types of prolapse and incontinence. Ring Pessary Information.

At your initial consultation we would have a comprehensive individualised discussion regarding your specific needs and concerns. We use non-directional pregnancy counselling skills that support a woman to make her own decision about what is best for her.

Termination is legal and available in Tasmania. There are two types of termination medical and surgical. Medication termination is available for women who are less than 9 weeks pregnant. Surgical termination is legal up to 16 weeks of pregnancy in Tasmania, but many providers have limits of 12 or 14 weeks.

The services that we provide include:

  • Pregnancy counselling
  • Referral for surgical termination of pregnancy
  • Provision of medication termination of pregnancy
  • Funding is available through Youth Health Fund and Women’s Health Fund to support eligible women to access termination of pregnancy and subsequent contraception post MTOP. This can include IUD or Implanon insertion. LWHC can assist with the application process for financial assistance.
